Let's Work Together

Temporary works refer to the structures, supports, or equipment that are used to facilitate construction activities and provide support for the permanent works until they can support themselves. These temporary structures are essential for ensuring the safety and stability of construction sites during the building process. They are designed to be temporary in nature and are typically removed once their purpose is fulfilled.

Temporary works can encompass a wide range of elements, including but not limited to:

  1. False work: Falsework is crucial for ensuring the safety and stability of construction projects, as it provides temporary support for various construction elements such as beams, slabs, and formwork.
  2. Shoring: Shoring systems are used to support unstable structures during construction or repair. They prevent collapses and provide a safe working environment.
  3. Temporary Access: This includes temporary staircases, ramps, or bridges that provide access for workers and equipment during construction.
  4. Temporary Excavation Support: Temporary works also include systems such as sheet piling, soldier piles, or soil nailing that provide support for excavations until permanent retaining structures are in place.
  5. Temporary Propping: Temporary propping involves the use of props or supports to stabilise existing structures during renovation or repair work.
